LDV New Zealand is rolling out the tough, durable, limited edition T60 TRAVERSE ute this week at Hamilton’s Fieldays at Mystery Creek Events Centre. Featured amongst the five LDV vehicles on display at the Southern Hemisphere’s largest agricultural event, held from Wednesday 12th to Saturday 15th June 2024, the LDV T60 TRAVERSE provides a tough, rugged option for the country’s agrarian sector.
Only 150 LDV T60 TRAVERSE limited edition utes will be available in New Zealand. The ultra capable T60 TRAVERSE is inspired by the intrepid nature of the infamous central North Island track, the 42 Traverse. Running through the Tongariro Forest Conservation Area, the Traverse is known as one of the best but most challenging multi-use tracks in the North Island. This wilderness mountain bike ride, tramping track and summer-access-only 4WD track follows old logging routes through a spectacular valley and amidst regenerating native bush with epic views of the volcanoes.
The tough LDV T60 TRAVERSE has many synergies with this track, which alternates between thrilling downhills and demanding climbs. Equipped with 160kW of power and 480Nm of torque, a bullbar, roof-mounted platform, DTM wheels, all terrain tyres and even a snorkel, it is robustly built to handle the tricky rutted sections that adventurers encounter on the 42 Traverse.
The T60 TRAVERSE double-cab ute doesn’t just look good from the outside. Under the bonnet is a new generation, powerful 2.0 litre variable geometry turbo charged diesel engine (VGT), producing an output of up to 160kW and 480Nm of torque.
Part-time 4WD combined with effortless power and torque, allows smooth automatic gear changes via the 8-speed automatic transmission and a positive steering response makes the T60 TRAVERSE a delight to drive, either on a farm track, or on the highway.
The LDV T60 TRAVERSE colour range is Grey, Black and White.
With an introductory Fieldays price of $67,990 RSP* the LDV T60 TRAVERSE comes fully equipped with a large range of features, including a free towbar if the TRAVERSE is purchased during the
Fieldays.

General Manager of Inchcape New Zealand, distributor for LDV, Kym Mellow says the T60 TRAVERSE is the real deal when it comes to a capable ute.
“The T60 TRAVERSE is extremely well kitted out and can easily double as a rugged work horse during the week and the ultimate adventure vehicle on the weekend. It’s stand-out features, such as, the steel bullbar, contoured weather shields, light yet super strong Titan tray and well-sealed TJM snorkel, signify that the TRAVERSE means business when it comes to durability,” Mellow says.
LDV T60 TRAVERSE also has two tint accessories, which add to its eye-catching overall look. The Lustre Protection Film (LPF) provides an unparalleled shield against the elements. Designed to protect the vehicle's exterior, it enhances the aesthetic appeal with a lustrous finish while safeguarding against scratches, chips, and environmental damage. With superior UV resistance, the LPF prevents paint fading and offers a longer-lasting, vibrant appearance.
The TRAVERSE’S high-performance window tints offer both functional and aesthetic benefits. They significantly reduce glare and heat, providing a cooler and more comfortable driving experience.
Additionally, the tints protect the interior from harmful UV rays, reducing the risk of fading and damage to upholstery.
There is also a chrome delete package, which executed with precision using gloss black finishes, transforms the LDV T60 into a sleek, modern utility vehicle. This also gives the TRAVERSE a more aggressive and yet elegant look.
The LDV TRAVERSE’s warranty is 5 years/130,000 kilometres.
LDV’s Fieldays site will have five vehicles on display:
- T60 TRAVERSE limited-edition ute
- T60 Elite ute
- G10 cargo van
- eDeliver 9 all-electric van
- eDeliver 3 all-electric van
The LDV New Zealand team have also taken the opportunity to visualise how their vans can be customised to suit your business needs, which can be seen on some of the display vehicles.
Mellow encourages prospective customers to head along to the LDV site (#148) at Hamilton’s Fieldays, at the Mystery Creek Events Centre, from Wednesday 12th to Saturday 15th June to see
