Keeping your vehicle roadworthy shouldn’t be a hassle—and with LDV, it’s not. We’ve got you covered with 7 Years of Warrant of Fitness (WOF) Inspections included as part of our warranty.
Here’s how it works:
Your initial WOF inspection is carried out at the time of vehicle registration, and subsequent inspections are required annually from the 3rd year onward. The best part? We take care of the WOF inspections for years 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7*.

This Manufacturer’s Warranty applies to LDV vehicles first registered on or after 1 January 2025. Subject to the terms and exclusions outlined below, Inchcape Automotive Distribution (NZ) Limited trading as LDV New Zealand guarantees that any new vehicle supplied by LDV New Zealand or an authorised LDV Dealership (excluding Fleet vehicles) will be free from manufacturing defects under normal usage for the specified warranty periods, subject to the limitations and exclusions outlined in this document and the Warranty & Service Handbook.

For LDV vehicles first registered on or before 31 December 2024 please refer to the Warranty and Service Handbook that came with your LDV vehicle for warranty terms and conditions.
The warranty period is the period that the vehicle warranty remains valid until the stated duration has expired. The warranty period begins on the registration date of the LDV vehicle to its first owner, as documented in the Warranty & Service Handbook (and irrespective of subsequent changes in ownership), and concludes upon:
- The expiration date of the stated warranty period; or
- The vehicle reaching the specified kilometre limit, whichever comes first.
The following items have limited warranty periods which vary from the main warranty identified above.

- Every class of oil (grease), brake fluid, coolant fluid, bulbs, lampshade, fuses, wiper blade, paint peel, cracking etc caused by user failure to comply with prescribed maintenance requirements, specifications or routine maintenance parts.
- Normal wear and tear or degradation, such as the normal deterioration of paint or other exterior features, including but not limited to scratches or minor surface rust caused by stones or other external factors
- Damage caused by accident, overload, racing, water fording or any other use outside of the use for which the vehicle was designed.
- Damage due to factors such as unauthorised modification, incorrect repairs, driving on sand, salt, stones, chemicals or industrial sediments.
- Damage or corrosion caused by failure to perform proper maintenance according to the maintenance plan or recommendations given by SAIC MAXUS Automotive Co., Ltd and/or LDV New Zealand.
- Damage or corrosion caused by a failure of the owner to promptly report to an authorised LDV Dealership or Service Agent, after suspecting or discovering a defect, and/or failing to promptly repair the vehicle according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
- Damage caused by events beyond the reasonable control of SAIC MAXUS Automotive Co., Ltd and/or LDV New Zealand such as lightning, fire, flood, earthquake, etc.
- Some routine maintenance wearing and specified parts have a limited warranty. For more information, please see the limited warranty information above.
To ensure the ongoing validity of this Manufacturer’s Warranty, the owner must:
- Ensure that all services are carried out as per the LDV maintenance schedule set out in the Warranty & Service Handbook. Failure to perform maintenance promptly and in accordance with LDV specified service intervals may invalidate Warranty coverage.
- Ensure all required service and maintenance is performed using LDV genuine or authorised parts and materials. The service provider must comply with the requirements of the vehicle Warranty & Service Handbook. Failure to service a vehicle in accordance with the Warranty & Service Handbook requirements, including use of non-authorised parts, may invalidate Warranty coverage. The Warranty will not be invalidated if a non-authorised LDV New Zealand repairer carries out this work. However, faults resulting from work carried out by a non-authorised repairer that do not comply with the requirements of the Warranty & Service Handbook and/or any other repair manuals or similar type documents published by SAIC MAXUS Automotive Co., Ltd and/or LDV New Zealand, will not be covered under this Warranty.
- Ensure that all completed maintenance and repair work performed on the vehicle is duly recorded in the maintenance and repair log in the Warranty & Service Handbook and is presented to an authorised LDV Dealership when making a Warranty claim.
OWNER’S RESPONSIBILITIES SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE:
Under this Manufacturer’s Warranty, it is the vehicle owner's responsibility to ensure the LDV vehicle is operated and maintained in accordance with the guidelines outlined in the Owner’s Manual and the Warranty & Service Handbook.
To qualify for warranty repairs, the owner must keep maintenance records that confirm the required inspections and servicing have been completed. The Warranty & Service Handbook includes a maintenance log, and the Maintenance Record must be filled out by the service provider whenever routine maintenance is performed.
Owners are responsible for ensuring all services are carried out as recommended in the Owner’s Manual and for maintaining accurate and complete service records. These records must be available for review by the authorised LDV Dealer and/or LDV New Zealand if requested.
The records must include the following details:
- Service Date and Odometer Reading: The date of service and the vehicle's mileage at the time.
- Service Description: A detailed account of all maintenance performed.
- Inspections Conducted: A list of inspections carried out during the service.
- Repairs and Replacements: Notes on any adjustments, corrections, or parts replaced.
- LDV Genuine Parts: Documentation of any parts used, including part numbers.
- Oil and Fluids: Information on the type, brand, and quantity of oils or fluids used.
- Workshop Job Card or Repair Order: A copy of the workshop job card or repair order for the completed service.
- Compliance with Owner’s Manual: Evidence that the maintenance aligns with the requirements specified in the Owner’s Manual.
Please note that damage or failures caused by improper maintenance are not covered under this warranty. In some cases, owners may need to provide proof of servicing and maintenance to confirm eligibility for warranty coverage on specific repairs.
To lodge a claim under this Warranty, you must:
- Inform LDV New Zealand within 7 calendar days, or as soon as reasonably possible, after discovering the defect or malfunction. Prompt notification helps minimise the impact of the defect on the vehicle and determines the nature of the repair required.
- Promptly bring the vehicle to an authorised LDV Dealership or Service Agent. You can find a list of authorised LDV Dealerships and Service Agents here.
- Present the Warranty & Service Handbook with stamped warranty intervals evidencing the maintenance history of the vehicle to the repairing authorised LDV Dealer.
If your vehicle requires emergency repairs and you cannot take it to an authorised LDV Dealership or Service Agent, please contact LDV New Zealand at 0800 500 222 for assistance.
Please note: if you authorise any exploratory dismantling, and an authorised LDV New Zealand repairer determines that the issue is not caused by a manufacturing defect and falls outside the scope of this Warranty, you will be responsible for the associated service charges.
No, Certificate of Fitness checks are not covered under LDV 7 Year Warranty. Due to extensive use and the higher demands placed on them, Vehicles such as heavy vehicles, passenger service vehicles, taxis, rental vehicles and select other commercial uses are subject to a COF rather than a Warrant of Fitness (WOF). COF are subject to more a regular and rigorous inspection schedule to ensure that these vehicles remain safe for use considering their usage. This is not covered under the LDV 7 Year Warranty.
The 7 Year Free Warrant of Fitness (WoF) covers the WoF inspection fee at Authorised LDV Dealerships and Service Agents. This is for the annual WoF inspection, in accordance with current New Zealand Land Transport rules. For new vehicles, after an initial inspection, another WoF inspection won't be required until the 3rd anniversary of their first registration. Repairs, maintenance, and additional work outside of the WoF inspection are not covered by this programme.
The 7 Year Free Roadside Assist covers callout to breakdown including,
- Battery testing, and organising a replacement if necessary1
- Jump starting your vehicle
- Gaining access to vehicle if locked out. Arrangement of replacement key where possible
- Replacement for damaged wheel/ tyre where there is a serviceable spare tyre or inflatable kit available, and this is roadworthy and compatible with the other tyres/wheels of the vehicle2
- Free delivery of 5L fuel if you run out3
- EV Roadside Charging
- Where the vehicle cannot be mobilised, recovery to the nearest Authorised LDV Dealership or Service Agent
- Towing where possible for caravan/trailer whilst being towed by any nominated vehicle, provided it can be transported by one standard towing vehicle4
- Emergency Accommodation up to three days to a maximum of $120 per day
- Replacement Vehicle. Subject to availability and normal Rental Car criteria, up to three days at a maximum of $120 per day
1 Cost of replacement battery is at owners expense and may be payable at time of supply (unless found to be a manufacturing defect within the limited warranty period stipulated above). Service available in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and most provincial areas.
2 Where no serviceable spare recover to the nearest facility at the driver’s expense.
3 Cost of fuel is at owner/ drivers expense and may be payable at time of supply.
4 Any additional costs i.e. storage shall be at the expense of the driver.
ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Under this warranty:
- LDV New Zealand is not responsible for any consequential, indirect, or economic losses, loss of revenue, or any special damages that are not reasonably foreseeable, arising from a defect in the vehicle. These items should be pursued separately.
- To the extent permitted by law, LDV New Zealand is not liable for any damage caused by events beyond its control, including but not limited to legal or regulatory restrictions, natural disasters such as fire, flood, or storms, war, strikes, lockouts, labour disputes, accidents, riots, pandemics, or Acts of God or others beyond the parties’ control.
- Where permitted by law, LDV New Zealand reserves the right to update or amend the content, description, or terms of this Warranty as necessary due to legislative or commercial requirements. Notice of such changes will be provided. The applicable Warranty terms are those published on this website at the time the vehicle was first delivered to its original owner, as recorded in the Warranty & Service Handbook.

Terms and conditions: *The warranty is valid for vehicles registered on or after 1 January 2025 and covers a period of 7 years or 200,000kms (whichever comes first) for Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) powered vehicles or 7 years or 160,000km (whichever comes first) on Electric Vehicles (EVs), starting from the date of first registration. It covers manufacturing defects caused by issues such as design, assembly, or raw materials in covered parts but excludes routine maintenance, wear-and-tear items, and damage caused by misuse, accidents or unauthorised repairs. To maintain the warranty, the vehicle must be serviced as per the maintenance schedule set out in the Service & Warranty Booklet. Warranty claims require proof of purchase and service records. The initial Warrant of Fitness (WOF) is provided at vehicle registration, with subsequent annual inspections required from the 3rd year. This warranty covers the subsequent WOF inspections at years 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 at an LDV Authorised Service Centre.
